Dresses, pearls, and sun hats will be the outfits of choice for the Okotoks Calendar Girls on Saturday.

The Dewdney Players' Calendar Girls will be out at Jazmine Harbour, Emporium of Impossible Things, Cobs Bakery, and Okotoks Sobeys.

Sherene Schmidtler, director of Calendar Girls, says the idea for their own calendar mirrors what happens in the play.

"You have a group of older ladies who, through the loss of a man very special to all of them, decided to do a charity calendar and with their charity calendar," she says. "Our ladies in our show do take their clothes off, tastefully."

Schmidtler says the calendar is quite elegant.

"What you can expect to see are six incredibly beautiful women who have been very brave. You will see photos of them together and you will see photos of them on their own, but you will not see anything that you shouldn't. It is suggestive, it is classy, and it is beautiful."

The calendars cost $20 and proceeds go towards the Foothills Country Hospice Society. They can be found at various locations throughout town and will be available to purchase during the Calendar Girls production.

Calendar Girls runs on Oct. 9, 10, 15, 16, 17, 22, 23, and 24.
