The Okotoks BuskersFest took place on Saturday.

This is the fifth year that the event has ran and it was another success.

Steven Pointmeier was one of this years buskers, and says he likes doing this sort of performance because it is unique.

"There is no separation between you and people, they can just come up to you and share information."

Pointmeier adds that he almost missed the chance to do the event because he didn't know about it till a conversation with his friend.

His friend told him about it and he knew that he had to do it.

"I got off the phone and got in contact with the coordinator and they said to come on down."

Pointmeier says that he is glad he got the opportunity to perform at the event.

"You see the parents give the kids a loonie or toonie and they come up and put it in the case. That is the best because they are so innocent and that is what life is really about."

Forty other performers got to participate in the event along with Pointmeier.
