Putting on an event like the High River Hot Air Balloon Festival takes a lot of volunteers and cash.

Organizer Jamie Kinghorn says they're getting to the end of one of their fundraisers, the sale of hot air balloon pins.

"We're selling the pins for $5 and then your name will go in the hat for a free balloon ride during the event," he says. "We're getting close to that day, we're going to do the draw on Sept. 16 so we're all pretty excited about that."

He says it's the first time they've tried to raise money this way and so far it's gone really well.

They're available at the Museum of the Highwood, Walkers or Highwood Lock and Key and he sells them at the Farmer's Market downtown every Thursday.
