The diamond valley will be awash in Christmas spirit Saturday December 2 as they kick off their celebration of the season.

It all starts with Breakfast with Santa at the Legion at 9:30 a.m.

Shelley Broadley with the Town of Black Diamond says there's no shortage of things to see and do.

"You can stop by the High Country SPCA Christmas Market fundraiser from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Flare and Derrick, there'll be lots of goodies for sale there," she says. "Once all that's done everyone can get ready for Santa to come, he'll be arriving on a fire truck via Government Road and will be delivered to the tent at Grillo's around 5 o'clock, so if you're ready and waiting for him you'll be able to wave and see him coming along Government Road all the way to Centre Avenue."

You Can get free picture with Santa until 9 p.m.

The Black Diamond Gospel Chapel will be doing a nativity scene with live animals in the parking lot starting at 7 o'clock.

Visitors can hop a bus and take a tour of the lights in the town.

She says a lot of people really get into it.

"They do, everybody's excited to get their lights noticed this year," she says. "The seniors at the lodge and the town council will be driving through town and looking for some winning entries."

She says there will be fire pits around the towns and Anchor D Outfitting will be providing wagon rides.
