The Town of Black Diamond has put the 2013 flood behind them with finishing all the projects from the flood.

Now they are looking forward to what 2016 has to offer.

Mayor Sharlene Brown says they will be looking at where Black Diamond fits in the scheme of things.

"This will be the year we focus on what will Black Diamond be as a community," Brown says.

Brown says the year will focus on growth and how to manage growth as well as what the town needs to look like.

"We have internal and external plans that will be moving forward in 2016 as well as our Growth Without Boundaries program we have with our neighbours," she says.

Brown says she knows the world is changing and wants to move along with the changes.

After talks with the province around climate change, Brown says that paying attention to their greenhouse emissions is something the Town will focus on.

"Where do we need to go as a municipality to lower our emissions and what do we need to do to foster relationships with our other municipal partners."
