The Town of Black Diamond has finalized their 2016 operating budget.

Mayor Sharlene Brown says that the reason council waits to finalize the budget is so that they can have all the factors.

"We want to see what the education requisition would be."

The budget was finalized during last Wednesday's council meeting with a $122,042.14 reduction to it.

"The reduction we did was due to operational internal spending, instead of utilizing taxes," Brown says.

The Town is still able to put money away into their reserves.

One of the main things the town is looking to do is replacing the by-law car.

"There are some computer issues and we need to ensure that it is being dealt with because they are protective services and they need a camera."

The money from the purchase would come from one of Black Diamond's reserve funds.

The current car that by-law is using will become the administration car and the current administration car will be put up for sale.
