It's about to get loud in Nanton this weekend, as the Bomber Command Museum is inviting motorcycle enthusiasts to come together for a huge bike meet, and engine run.

V.P. of the Bomber Command Museum says they usually get a huge showing of bikes every year, for the Bikes and Bombers event.

"We usually have about 200 bikes show up and we park them inside the main hangar, as the big Lancaster bomber  is brought outside so it can run."

The engine runs will take place at 11 AM, and again at 2 PM.

Fox says if motorcycles aren't quite your bread and butter, there will be vintage cars around town as well.

"In conjunction with this, there also happens to be a car show going on, on the North side of the museum on ball diamond #3.  There will be a bunch of cool vintage cars parked there."

Lunch at the event will be provided by the High River Hospital Auxiliary Lunch Concession in the north hangar, which raises money for medical care in High River and the Foothills.

This is one event many of the museum staff look forward too, and Fox says he expects it to grow this year.

"It's going to be a great day, if the weather turns out we'll expect about 250 bikes." He shares, "We may actually have to start parking some of them out back behind the museum as it usually fills up pretty quick."

The first 100 bikers to the event will receive a commemorative Bikes and Bombers patch, the event runs from 10 AM - 3 PM on Saturday.
