The Big Rock Singers went back to their childhood last night at the Foothills Centennial Centre.

As the debut of their production 'Be Our Guest' featured classic Disney music.

Nairn Nerland with the Big Rock Singers says, they used Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast and so much more.

"We did Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, The Princess and the Frog, The Lion King and even Mary Poppins."

For those who have never been to a Big Rock Singers production, it's a lot more energetic than you might have thought.

Nerland says the singers dress up for every concert.

"We're moving on stage, we're not standing there holding our books singing. It's a full choreographed show in terms of movement." Nerland adds, "So we've got 51 people at times moving on the stage in full costume so that the audience feels like they're watching Aladdin or that they're watching the Beast."

Not only was it an energetic night, it was also a concert meant to support two great community organizations.

Nerland says the Singers shared the profits made from ticket sales.

"50% of the ticket sales went to two great local causes, which are the Sheep River Health Trust and the Foothills Country Hospice, it was great to see so many people come out and support these great local organizations."
