This past week the Okotoks Fire Department responded to 22 different calls, making it an average week for the crew.

Fire Chief Ken Thevenot says calls varied from alarm activations to car accidents.

"Calls this week included: six alarm system activations, one fire, medical responses, two public services, there was a person locked in a vehicle that we had to help out, one ruptured gas line, one ruptured water line and three motor vehicle accidents we attended."

The single fire response this past week took place in the Riverbank Campground when one of the trailers caught on fire.

Crews had it under control within minutes and no one was harmed in the incident.

Thevenot also reminds residents with all the weather watches and warnings the Foothills has received to stay updated before heading out.

"Check the weather before venturing out on walks or spending anytime outside, just in these days when we are having these weather events."

To be better prepared residents can sign up for the Emergency Alert System to be informed of any type of emergency within the area.
