The Sheep River Health Trusts Avenue of Trees is up at the Okotoks Recreation Centre again this year.

All the trees currently have bids on them and according to  Tanya Thorn with Sheep River Health Trust the community support has been great.

"We have had really good reception up at the rec centre with allot of people coming just to see the trees," Thorn says.

The trees were donated by local groups and businesses for the event.

They were than judged to see which trees would be going up for live auction on Saturday in at the Rec Centre.

The trees were also judge for ribbons in categories like the Best Tree Topper or Make Martha Stewart Proud.

Thorn says that when making the categories they tried to make ones that allot of trees could fall under.

"As an example the whimsical fantasy was what tree was fun and outside of the traditional Christmas Tree."

The trees that are not apart of the live auction on Saturday will be apart of the silent auction.

Thorn says that there have been companies that have sponsored a tree.

Thorn says "What that means is they are purchasing a tree that they intend to go to charity. We support four different charities and families with those trees."
