The Okotoks Library is playing host to the Artist Leagues summer show this weekend.

The show will exhibit members of the groups work that they put together through out the course of the year.

Artist Leagues leader Robin Lisa Thibodeau says that it is a unique and talented group she works with.

"It's a small group of kids that come to the Inspiration Studio Academy of Fine Art and go through a smaller version of a college program."

The students learn and master multiple different mediums of the arts including but not limited to things like clay sculptures, jewelry making and metal work along with acrylic and water colour painting.

Thibodeau says that along with the different mediums the kids also learn story telling.

"They have to come up with a project, either a sculpture, some kind of jewelry piece, anything that they have learned and they have to explain about the piece through calligraphy."

The artist leagues came to being during Thibodeau's art classes when students were wanting more intimate classes.

"I opened my studio for the types of kids that are looking for one on one focused plans," Thibodeau says.

The Artist Leagues will be holding games at Saturday's children's festival.
