The Okotoks Art Gallery has rolled out their newest exhibits for the next few weeks with one showcase the past beauty of places in the province.

George Webber's 'Simply Put: Vernacular Alberta' will be showcased from now until April 1, 2017.

Culture & Heritage Manager for the Town of Okotoks Allan Boss says the photography captured in the showcase is some of the best you'll see.

"George Webber is sort of an Albertan phenomena in photography," he says. "He taught at the Alberta College of Art & Design, he's won a million awards, too many that I can begin to list., his work has been published in magazines all around the world."

Boss says there's plenty of history in this display.

"George's exhibit covers 35 years exploring Alberta and looking at our architecture, specifically looking at small abandoned towns. It really talks a lot about the impact of humanity and changes that occur in our landscape."

Overall, Boss says you can really get lost in the aura that Webber's photography brings.

"It's a really great exhibit, you can come and spend an hour just looking at all the pictures they're gorgeous. There's no people in the pictures it's all landscapes but it's all of items that have been created by people so there's always a human presence in all the exhibits."

The Art Gallery is open from Tuesdays to Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
