Some of the best golfers in the Foothills will making their way to Augusta, Georgia Wednesday for the Masters... Make that the Crystal Ridge Golf Club for the first ever Mini Masters event.

The golf club will be holding a mini-golf tournament from 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Crystal Ridge Golf Club Pro Greg Johnson says the event is for a very good cause.

"All green fees for the day goes towards Kidsport Okotoks, and they're a charity that deals with underprivileged kids that might not have the opportunity to get into organized sports, and gives them the opportunity to try-out and join organized sports and have the same opportunities that every kid deserves," he says.

Johnson says the tournament is something Crystal Ridge has being trying to put on for quite sometime.

"We just decided because we want to give back to the community as we're a family golf course," he says. "Unfortunately this year we did have one of our close family members pass, a little six year old boy and it will also be going on to honour his memory."

Johnson says as part of the event, the Mini-Masters champion will get to have the full Augusta experience.

"We believe that there is a green jacket that has been located, that some lucky little boy or girl will be able to take home and show off to  their parents and to all their friends and it should be a great day out there.

Participants under the age of 13 will be automatically entered into a draw for an i-Pad mini no matter what their score may be.
