A Blizzard from Dairy Queen was the perfect way to cool off Thursday while raising funds for the Children's Miracle Network.

$1 from each Blizzard sold was put towards life-saving treatments for children in Canada and the US, and on Thursday over $6,000 was raised in Okotoks.

Sheana Saison, manager of the Okotoks Dairy Queen, says the community was very supportive of the event.

"It was amazing," she says. "Everybody was working hard and it was really fun. We are so amazed at how people support Miracle Treat Day, so it was awesome."

DQ and Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals have been partnered since 1984.
