Construction crews are continuing to hammer away at progress for the modernization of Foothills Composite High School.

Phase two has wrapped up which included a new front office and administration area, new theatre, music room, and mechanic shop.

Jordan Rhodes, vice principal, says the positive energy for the modernization can be felt throughout the school.

"I think kids are happy to see the spaces opening up and seeing what it's going to look like. They've been living through construction which is obviously tough but as the new spaces open they're pleased to see it and it kind of gives a fresh breath to the school and a little excitement."

Rhodes says the first major debut for the new theatre will be in the spring.

"We have some shows that are coming up that we're just balancing around when pieces are finished, things like acoustic, seating, and curtains," he says. "I'd say the first major show will be in May when we have our theatre production which I believe is The Crucible."

Currently crews are working on new change rooms, physed office, and a new weight room as well as a new science wing and the library.
