It was beginning to look a lot like Christmas this past weekend in Okotoks.

The 6th annual Market Square Okotoks Christmas Festival was back in town and it brought something for everyone with it.

This year, one of the organizers Andrea Bratu, says 95% of the 135 vendors were artisans.

"We have art, food, wood work, leather, jewelers, home made skin care products, home decor, signs and clothing vendors. I think a lot of people are looking for handmade local products, so that's what we want to support, we also just have a few small home based businesses."

On top of the best of the best vendors Santa Claus was there to take pictures with, a children's workshop provided entertainment for kids, live caroling got everyone in the Christmas spirit and food trucks kept everyone energized for a day of shopping.

Bratu says their hopes when planning each year is to keep everyone happy and to build community spirit.

"Well we are hoping we are bringing the best of the best to the Okotoks and Calgary crowds and to also keep the vendors happy...I think we are building community here and it's awesome to see people supporting local."

This year a dollar from every ticket bought, all of the children's workshop funds and half of the Santa picture funds will be donated to the Okotoks Food Bank.

Bratu says their goal this year was to donate $10,000.
