The Alberta Provincial Election will come to a close in just four days, and candidates are busier than ever trying to reach their constituents.

Ron Kerr, the Alberta Party candidate for Highwood decided to get involved with the election due to his displeasure with both the New Democratic Party and the United Conservatives.

"I didn't like what was happening with the NDP and how they've put so much regulation on business that it's kind of close the doors for Alberta, and I didn't like all the back room politics that were going on with the United Conservative Party. It just got me to a level of frustration where I thought I've got to do something, if nobody else is going to step up, I've got to try and do something as well. There's a better option for Albertans to make a better future for not just purselves, but for our kids and grandkids. Do your research, get out there, and vote."

Kerr says too many voters seem to think there are only two choices.

"The things that I'm hearing are that people are worried to split the vote and elect the wrong party, and they're just going to elect the lesser of two evils between the other two parties, whereas I think if they really do their research they would find that we are the right party, that we are the balance between the two extremes."

He says the Alberta Party agrees with the "open for business" mentality, but they also intend on listening more than anything.

"We are pro-business, we want the world to know that Alberta is open to business, but we also want people to know that we're pro-people. Albertans are the best resource, the human resource is the best resource. That's basically what we want to come across as."

Kerr appeared alongside his three fellow candidates yesterday at Percy Pegler School, and will be making an appearance tonight at the forum to be held at the Okotoks Trade & Lifestyle Show.
