More and more businesses are falling victim to fraudsters.

That's the bottom line of a new report from the Canadian Federation of Independent Business, showing that one in five businesses were scammed in the last year.

Alberta Director Amber Ruddy, says the CFIB is there to help.

"Businesses can go to cfib.ca/befraudfree. And we have a number of resources available, posters that businesses can download for their employees to recognize fraud. And we also have Business Resource Counsellors that small businesses can take advantage of, phone in, and ask them questions if they think something is fishy."

With March set aside as fraud prevention month, the Federation has partnered with the RCMP and the Competition Bureau of Canada, to help raise awareness of fraud against businesses.
