The Alberta High School of Fine Arts Society is looking to support their students futures.

The group is holding a silent auction where instead of items, people bid on experiences like spending the day with Calgary Police as a forensic scientist or an on-air personality at The Eagle 100.9.

Shauna Spears, Fundraising Coordinator for the AHFSA Society, says the scholarships and bursaries the funds go towards help students in different grades.

"One will help a student graduating out of the Alberta High School of Fine Arts going into a post secondary fine arts program, one graduating out of the Alberta High School of Fine Arts going into any program, then a couple of bursaries fro students going from Grade 10 into Grade 11 to maybe go to a summer camp, and again for two students going from Grade 11 into Grade 12 next year."

Spears says the programming and fundraising the society does comes full circle for all students in the Foothills Composite High School building.

"It's like a school within a school. You can take cosmetology, Spanish, French, all those other options for anybody attending the school. You don't have to be in the Alberta High School of Fine Arts itself or even graduate out of it to benefit from these programs and benefit from the other things we do with the society like purchasing whatever else they might need that can't be covered by the school board or student fees."
