A 129 year old High River company is donating a place to store donated goods, supplies and equipment in Fort McMurray.

Sprung Structures President Phil Sprung says he wanted to join other Albertans and Canadians and do what he could to help out.

"We're sitting back watching everybody across Canada, especially locally reaching out to try and help the victims of Fort McMurray and Sprung Structures wanted to do our part so we donated a 5,000 square foot warehouse type facility."

He says he's waiting for the government to make the call once they decide where they want the structure then they'll deliver it.

"The Province is just looking for the right place for it right now to best suit their needs up there and help them get under way as they're trying to figure out when they can get people back into their homes."

"Initial discussions are they may use it to actually store donated goods that they want to keep out of the elements up there and to get them up on location where the people that need them can access them.  It may be but it's still undetermined at this point."

He says he was moved by how people in Alberta and across the country have come together and he wanted to do his part too.
