The residents of the Okotoks Tudor Manor Seniors Complex will be able to be out in the community more with their new handi-bus.

President and CEO of the Brenda Stafford Foundation Mike Conroy says having this resource will help extend the reach of the residents.

He adds that it will also increase their quality of life.

"It provides them with the ability to get out and enjoy the various amenities and services in the community."

The bus was custom built and designed for the needs of those in the community.

"It's a completely wheelchair accessible bus, while allowing other passengers in as well, and also has a speaker system if they are on a tour," Conroy says.

Conroy adds it is built to allow comfortable transportation.

He believes that even though the campaign was to raise funds for the new bus, much more was achieved.

"It was as much a friend-raising activity as a fundraising activity, because it increased the awareness of Tudor Manor in the community and the many services that seniors benefit from."

The community was a huge support in this campaign, along with corporate sponsors like Okotoks Ford Lincoln.
