Seaman Stadium in Okotoks will be turning into a real life Field of Dreams at the end of May.

Two local philanthropists are organizing a charity game where alumni from the Calgary Flames and Calgary Stampeders will be making up a dream team.

The Okotoks Dawgs will be defending their home stadium against them.

Rob Laird and Jeff Wilkie are organizing this Field of Dreams event, and Laird says some of the faces we'll see have pretty big names.

"For the Stamps you'll see Bo Levi Mitchell, Deron Mayo, Devone Claybrooks, Keon Raymond, and a few others." Laird says "For the Flames you'll see the one and only pot-licker from Okotoks - Bearcat Murray, we'll have Lanny McDonald there, Jim Peplinski and Joel Otto among others."

Of course it wouldn't be a Field of Dreams if athletes and organizers weren't making someone's dreams come true.

Laird and Wilkie say all of the proceeds from the game will be going to two great charities.

"All proceeds are going to split between two different organizations.  One is called Life Choice Dynamics, and the other one is CC4MS."

Life Choice Dynamics is an organization that works with CFL players and the Calgary Stampeders, that helps the athletes transition from being football players into their careers afterwards.

Many professional athletes fall upon hard times after they exit the big arena life, some experience serious depression or addictions.

CC4MS, on the other hand,  is a not for profit that helps adult male survivors of sexual abuse; an organization that the Calgary Flames are already heavily involved in.

Wilkie says it'll be hard to figure out which team to cheer for.

"Well I think the Okotoks fans know who they're cheering for, but that's a tough one." Wilkie adds "There's also going to be a home run derby, so that should be interesting to see if some of the big boys can actually put that grapefruit over the fence."

Organizers are currently looking for sponsors to help out at the event as there will also be a silent auction, 50/50 draws and meet-and-greet's with the celebs.

Sponsorship amounts start at $100, and from there are unlimited.

The Field of Dreams Game is on May 26th, at 7 P.M.

Tickets are $15 for adult, reserved seating, $10 for adult, general seating and children under 12 years old are $5.
