100 Women Who Care Foothills is continuing to give back to the community.

At their most recent meeting the group of 47 ladies chose their latest charity to donate to.

Karen Love, founder of 100 Women Who Care Foothills, says the winning pick caters to our four legged friends.

"That night we had three nominations, one of them was Pound Rescue, one was Rowan House, and one of them was Foothills Fetal Alcohol Society," she explains. "The ladies chose the Pound Rescue."

The rescue received $4,700 from the organization.

In August, 100 Women will be celebrating their second anniversary.

Love says the donation to the Pound Rescue shows how much the group has grown since it's humble beginning a couple years ago.

"We've had a few join and a few leave and we still haven't reached that magic 50 yet but we're getting close, much closer than our very first meeting where we had 22 members."

The next meeting will take place Aug. 3 in High River.
