A good night for High River chuckwagon driver Jason Glass and Okotoks Mark Sutherland at the Calgary Stampede tarp auction Thursday night.

Glass went for $95,000 dollars to Glass Racing, $5,000 more than last year.

While Sutherland was up $12,000 to $85,000 from the Cowboys Posse.

High River's Jordie Fike, was on the downside this year with just $55,000 from Shaw GMC, down $15,000 from last year.

Chuckwagon Committee Vice Chairman Paul Kavanaugh says with $2.3 million dollars bid, they're pretty happy given the dire economic predictions.

"Definitely thrilled, pleased with the results and looking forward to 10 great days of racing come July."

Kurt Bensmiller got the high bid of the night at $120,000 from the Tsuu T'ina Nation.

Logan Gorst was number two with $115,000 from PCL Construction Management Ltd.

"The King" Kelly Sutherland was number three at $100,000 from "Friends of the King."

Glass was number four, and rounding out the top five was Vern Nolin who picks up $90,000 from Denton's.

And the High River Autoplex has renewed their partnership with Colt Cosgrave, who they snagged for $70,000.
