A bunch of bad luck for Okotoks Mark Sutherland Thursday, July 13, at the Stampede Chucks, including a one second penalty for a false start as he took himself out of contention for the 100-thousand dollars.

He had a bridle come off one of his horses prior to the fifth heat, and it took some work to get in back on, in the meantime the horse were getting tired out, and by the time he ran the race they didn't have much left in the tank as he came in with a 1:18.82, plus the one second penalty.

He was dead last on the night, falling from 12th to 26th in the aggregate.

Both High River's Jordie Fike and Jason Glass remain three seconds back of the final spot for "Semi Final Saturday," and will need divine intervention to get in.

Kurt Bensmiller takes over the aggregate lead from Chanse Vigen, who's held it most of the week.

Logan Gorst, Obrey Motowylo, Troy Dorchester, Evan Salmond, and Kirk and Kelly Sutherland round out the top eight.
