Chuckwagon season is still a couple of months away, but it's coming up fast for local drivers looking to start their Spring training.

High River's Jordie Fike says it's a little tough with a couple of feet of snow still in his fields.

"It's been pretty hard even to get feed out to the field, but the horses are starting to feel the weather change a bit now. They're starting to run and play on their own which is good, because I can't really help them with it right now. I can't get out to where they are. They run and play and come in for feed, and I hope that it melts fast so that we can get rolling soon."

The chucks get rolling for the season Wednesday, May 30 at the Grande Prairie Stompede.
