The Okotoks Outlaws Girls Fastpitch players took the field at Seaman Stadium Wednesday, June 28 to show off everything they've accomplished over the year.

The girls are a part of the Foothills Minor Ball Association, ranging from ages seven to fourteen.

Torben Sherwood, U-14 Outlaws Coach says this year the entire organization is finding success.

"They've done an amazing amount of stuff this year, they've won tournaments, and six of our ten teams have won City Championships out of Calgary. This is a program that's really working, it's grown dramatically over the past few years and we're just really proud to be a part of this community."

Sherwood's U-14 Tier 1 Girl's team are one of the four teams in the Outlaws Fastpitch Club to head to Provincials this year, he says it's an opportunity not many clubs in Alberta get a chance to do.

"We go to small towns throughout Alberta, and we get a chance to compete with other groups from around the province, groups of our own age, and different divisions, so it's a real good opportunity for everybody to have a chance."

He's hoping all of Okotoks will be cheering on the girls when they head to Irma, Alberta to play the most skilled teams in Fastpitch in mid-July.

"The best of the best get to go, and you get to see how well you fare against everybody else in Alberta. I like our squad I think we've got a real good chance, we've done a lot of good things the past month here and I'm really excited to see how they're going to do up there."

The Okotoks Outlaws U-14 Tier 1 Girl's Fastpitch Team heads to Provincials from July 14 to 16.
