The Okotoks Oilers stretched their winning streak to six games.

They tamed the Calgary Mustangs 7-4 last night, January 16, as they opened a three game home stand.

After being down 2-0 n the first, they notched one in the final minute to get on the scoreboard.

Once they got their legs in the second and leading 4-3 after 2 periods they drilled home three more in the third to cap off the win.

Oilers forward Zane Kindrachuk had 3 assists on the night and says he thought they worked the lines well in the second.

"They set up the other lines nicely by keeping the puck in the offensive zone and kinda tiring out the defense and then fresh guys can come on and take advantage of that."

The Oilers haven't lost a game this month and look to extend their winning streak this Friday and Saturday.

They host the Calgary Canucks on Friday and the Drumheller Dragons on Saturday.  Both games start at 7.
