The Okotoks Oilers are off to their semi final round of Playoffs.

They took on the Calgary Canucks in game 1 of the best of seven series yesterday at the Max Bell Centre, walking away with a 3-0 shutout.

With only a single Oilers goal scored every period, Oilers Defensemen Jacob Bernard-Docker says it was a good shutout but the team needs to keep pushing.

"In the playoffs you have to find a way to grind it out, and I think we did just that. The two points was the most important thing there."

The Canucks tried to make a push in the second period making it tough for the Oilers to increase their score.

Bernard-Docker says they did a really job defensively.

"I think you try to push the pace in the whole game, I mean they did a good job pushing back in the 2nd and the 3rd periods." Bernard-Docker adds "It was tough to defend but overall I think we did a good job of making safe plays, getting the puck out of our end and being sound offensively."

The Oilers meet the Canucks again today in Calgary for game two of the semi-final series.

Puck drop is at 7:30.
