Close, but not close enough to clinch the playoff series.

The Okotoks Dawgs fell one run short of a ninth inning come back, losing 9-8 in Edmonton last night.

The Prospects came out of the gate on fire, taking advantage of a few Dawgs errors and gaining a 6 run lead.

Once the red and white decided they wanted to win the runs started to trickle in.

In the top of the third inning Humeniuk notched his second multi-hit game of the series, picking a hole in right field.

That hit brought Eddie Sanchez  to second base; allowing him to score off an RBI single from Cullen.

After a bases loaded walk cut the deficit to four, a passed ball capped off the three-run inning.

Dawgs MVP Kody Funderburk tied things up in the 5th inning crushing a 3 run shot.

Unfortunately it just wasn't enough, as another couple of errors held the Dawgs back from their come back.

The Dawgs will square up against the Prospects in the final game of series.

It's winner moves on, at 7:05 in Seaman Stadium.
