WPCA drivers will have one less stop on their schedule this summer as the races in Bonnyville have been cancelled this year.

WPCA G.M., Bryan Hebson says with some new people on the board there, they weren't able to reach a deal in time, that would have seen the show go to a four day show with a dash for cash.

Hebson says, maybe next year.

"You know we'd like to be in Bonnyville, and there's a lot of history, just like in High River, and a lot of our communities. You know, we get through this race season, we still have a lot of race days, 46 race days. We'll re-visit that at the end of the season and see if we can make things work for 2019."

Hebson says the bottom line came down to not being able to make an agreement with the Bonnyville Ag Society over revenues from tarp sales.
