Things are getting tight in the race for the top spot in the high school baseball Tier II South Division.

The Highwood Mustangs beat up on the County Central Hawks 14-6 Monday, May 14, in Vulcan to move to 4-1-and-1 on the year and sit a game back of the division leading HTA Knights.

The Mustangs head to Nanton Tuesday, May 15, to battle the J.T. Foster Knights.

In Okotoks, the Foothills Falcons kept pace with the Mustangs as they improved to 3-2-and-1 with a 9-8 win over the Matthew Halton Hawks at Tourmaline Field.

The Falcons head to the Crowsnest Pass Thursday.
