The Bow Mark AAA Midget Okotoks Oilers will face the second half of their former team tonight at the Pason Centennial Arena!

At the end of the season last  year the Foothills CFR Chemical Bison's were split into two teams with half going to Okotoks and half going to Airdrie.

Tonight those former team mates, will meet up for an exhibition game in Okotoks.

Head coach Kevin Willison says he's happy with the effort the players are putting into making this team gel.

"We certainly have a long way to go," said Willison. "It has been a lot of fun. We have seen a lot of kids try out for here and we are down to 29 players now."

The Oilers coaches are hoping to crop that number down to 20 within the next week, as they play through another busy schedule.

Over the last week, the team has played 6 games in 7 days, Coach Willison shares that's a busy schedule for rookie players.

"It's a lot for these guys, that is why we have so many bodies here. We want to make sure they are not tiring themselves out or getting hurt. We want to have a look at a lot of kids."

For many on the team it's a big learning curve as well, since the team right now, is quite green.

"There is going to be some great teams in this league. The Alberta Midget Hockey League is a very elite league. There are only two kids in that locker room that played midget triple A last year so it is a learning curve for the rest."

The Bow Mark AAA Midget Oilers lost their last exhibition game to the Calgary Buffaloes 2-4 last night on home ice.

That's the second loss to that team so far, and their second loss of the season so far.
