The High River Flyers will welcome former NHL Goaltender Clint Malarchuk to town Saturday, August 19, for their first annual Sportsman's Dinner.

Malarchuk who survived long battles with alcohol and mental health issues says while his talk will focus on some of those issues, he'll have some lighter moments as well.

"I've got some great, upside, funny hockey stories that keeps it light. I try to keep a balance between my story, the "dark" Clint, and the "happy" Clint."

The event gets going with cocktails at 4:45 Saturday afternoon at the Heritage Inn in High River.

Dinner goes at 6 o'clock and there's a 50/50 draw, raffles and silent and live auctions, all in support of the Flyers.
