A half dozen local athletes will be competing at the Canada Summer Games in Winnipeg starting Friday.

The largest contingent is in baseball where Jacob Libbus of Turner Valley is joined by Noah Matsubara and Kyle Seitz of Okotoks and High River's Tucker Zdunich.

Turner Valley's Isaac Niles will compete in the mountain bike portion of cycling while swimmer Finlay Knox of Okotoks competes in the pool in male individual medley.

Alberta is sending 344 athletes to the games, 181 male athletes, and 163 female athletes.

The Games wrap up August 13.
