A great night for local chuckwagon drivers at the final stop of the 2017 WPCA Pro Tour at the Battle of the Rockies in Rocky Mountain House.

For the second consecutive night, top money went to Dustin Gorst with a time of 1:16.01 from barrel 4 in heat 2.  

Okotoks Mark Sutherland was just behind him finishing second on the night.

High River's Jordie Fike had one of his best runs of the season finishing fifth on the night while while Okotoks Dayton Sutherland was sixth.

Jason Glass also of High River finished in 18th.

Two-consecutive first place runs puts Gorst soundly atop the overall aggregate standings with a two-run total time of 2:31.84. That puts him almost one full second in front of Mark Sutherland who has now moved up into second place overall.

Rick Fraser's number one and number two wagons sit third  and fourth respectively, with Logan Gorst in fifth place overall. The driver posting the best 4 day aggregate time will take home the 2017 Battle of the Rockies Championship.

Kurt Bensmiller, in search of his second World Chuckwagon Championship, keeps increasing his lead with every run and sits atop the World Standings with a 183.5 point lead with 2 runs to go. The World Champion Chuckwagon Driver will be declared Sunday afternoon.

In the aggregate standings, Glass is 10th, Fike is 17th and Dayton Sutherland is 29th.
