A couple of local pro's are near the top of the leader board after day one of the PGA of Alberta Championships at the River Bend G&RA in Red Deer.
Riley Fleming from the National Golf Academy Dome is the round one leader, shooting a 6-under 66 on the opening day, Monday, August 20.
He's coming off a winning effort at the Assistant's Championship a couple of weeks ago in Spruce Grove.
Priddis Greens, Eric Locke, who's been threatening at events all Summer, is two shots back, with a 68 in round one.
Craig Gibson from Sirocco shot an even par 72.
Cameron Gall from the Highwood Golf and Country Club had a 77, Sam Kirkness from Priddis Greens had a 79 and Greg Johnson from Okotoks Crystal Ridge had a tough day, shooting an 87.
The tournament wraps up Tuesday, August 21.
