The High River Flyers are in the market for a new Head Coach as Tyson Avery is leaving the team to take over as an Assistant Coach with the AJHL's Calgary Canucks.

Avery says, he's been helping the Canucks for over a year with scouting, and has been in contact with the Head Coach of the Canucks, Darryl Olsen, throughout the spring.

"We talked on and off a few times, and then during their spring camp the first weekend of April, he asked me if I wanted to be Assistant Coach and he said he had a lot of faith in me, so I jumped at the opportunity as soon as he gave it out to me."

Flyers President Mike Bliss, says Avery will certainly be missed, and they wish him the best of luck in the AJHL.

Avery will officially start his new position at the Canucks' summer combine in July.
