High River's Jason Glass has come a long way back at the Rangeland Derby.

His top time Tuesday, July 10, moved him to seventh, in the aggregate, where he was 18th just two days before.

But he's quick to add, there's a ways to go yet.

"You know we're a little bit behind the front end guys. It's time to really nail down the horses I'm going to use and that's kind of what I did last night and we were lucky enough to have a great run and no so we're right back in the hunt."

The accident during Tuesday's eighth heat looks like it's going to keep Obrey Motowylo out for a few days at least.

Coming off barrel four to start the heat, Motowylo was thrown from his wagon, going underneath the back wheels.

Glass says it looks like Motowylo will be OK.

"He sounds like he's going to be OK. He's in the hospital. His head is fine. I think he has a fracture in his shoulder. But other than that, he's a very tough, strong man. And I think he'll be back."

Okotoks Mark Sutherland's fifth overall and has the four barrel in heat eight Wednesday, July 11.

High River's Jordie Fike is 16th.

Kurt Bensmiller is still the aggregate leader heading into night six of racing.
