Chuckwagon drivers make their way to Grande Prairie Friday, April 6, for the latest WPCA tarp auction.

High River's Jason Glass says this one, like Calgary and Ponoka is a stand-alone auction, but they'll have to organize their own sponsorship for the WPCA's other races this season.

"It's not that much different, even when there is an auction sale. You know, us drivers need to bring sponsors to the table and get them into the room. It's interesting what's happening up north. I think it's a little busier up there, so hopefully it goes well."

Glass says he was happy to see just about everyone get a 20 per cent bump at this year's Stampede auction, and hopes for the same in Grande Prairie.
