The Highwood Golf Club is hosting the Future Links Junior Golf Tournament this weekend.

G.M. of Highwood Golf, Greig Burnie says, it's a big-time event.

"It's a national event, for the most part a western championship. The event features 120 of Canada's best junior golfers and gives exemptions into the top 50 juniors in Canada and it helps graduate juniors to the national junior team to represent Canada on the world stage."

Burnie, says these kids are the real deal.

"Some of these kids have been playing golf since the age of three or four. Certainly scratch golfers, maybe even plus golfers. It's going to be outstanding golf. The public is welcome to come down and watch."

The golfers hit the links Thursday, May 31, for a practice round, with the competition running Friday, June 1 through Sunday, June 3.
