How 'bout those High River Flyers?

The team looks like they're making the transition from "also-ran's" to contenders this season as they're just three points out of top spot in the Heritage Junior "B" Hockey League's South Division.

Coach Tyson Avery says give credit to the team who after years of not being able to light the lamp, are putting in plenty of pucks this year.

"Last couple of years it was tough to get some goals, but this year so far it seems like the pucks going in when we need it to, and we're getting some good bounces. So hopefully it keeps going, knock on wood!"

No rest for the Flyers this weekend though as they'll play three games in three days for the second time in the last three weeks.

They're home to the Strathmore Wheatland Kings Friday, November 3, they're in that Medicine Hat to face the Cubs Saturday, November 4, and then back in the Foothills to face the Okotoks Bisons at the Murray Arena Sunday, November 5.
