The High River flyers are hoping this could be the year they turn their fortunes around.

They struggled in just about every aspect of their game last season, from scoring goals to stopping them.

Coach Tyson Avery feels they've addressed those issues heading into the regular season.

"I think we found goal scoring, I think we found some defenceman and goaltending. I think we've filled most of the holes, but you don't really see until you get going throughout the year. Once you get going that's when you'll figure out this is what we really need to fill and try and find guys then too."

The Flyers open the Heritage League regular season Saturday, September 23, when they head to Coaldale to battle the Copperheads.
