The High River flyers pulled it all together this weekend as they won three straight and are now challenging the Okotoks Bisons for top spot in the Heritage Junior "B" Hockey League's South Division.

They got past Strathmore 6-4 Friday, December 15.

Beat the Cochrane Generals 5-3 Saturday, December 16 in Cochrane, and then made it a clean sweep with a 3-1 win over the Bisons Sunday, December 17, at the Bob Snodgrass Recreation Complex in High River.

It's their first win in four starts against the Bisons this season.

The Flyers got off to a quick start with Joe Nalder notching a goal on the power play just 55 seconds into the game.

Evan Pakkala, would get the winner at the 5:30 mark of the first.

The Bisons made it 2-1, 14:37 into the second period on the power play, but the Flyers would get the insurance marker from league leading scorer, Davis Sheldon, as he popped his 35th goal into the empty net with 1:19 to go in the third.

The Flyers are just a point back of Okotoks for first place in the South, and could actually move ahead with a win in their final game of 2017 Friday, December 22, at home to the Cochrane Generals.
