Tarp auctions for the 2018 WPCA season wrapped up Friday night in Ponoka.

The Ponoka Stampede was the high roller again of all of the WPCA canvas auctions this year with a sale total of $375,750.

Of the Foothills crew, Mark Sutherland brought in $15,000 from Air Canada, while his son, Dayton Sutherland saw $8,000 from Midwest Pipelines.

High River's Jason Glass saw $10,000 from Birchcliff Energy Ltd., and Jordie Fike raked in $8,500 from Morskate Manufacturing.

Defending Ponoka Stampede champion Kurt Bensmiller was the sale topper taking in $25,000 from Versatile Energy Services.

The overall total was up $57,750 from 2017 for the six day show that starts June 27.

The average bid was $10,437.50 and the median bid was at $9,500.
