The chuckwagon season comes to a close this weekend in Rocky Mountain House as the "Battle of the Rockies" is the final stop for the WPCA this year.

High River driver Jordie Fike says it's his last chance to crack the top 10 in the World Driver Standings.

"That's what we're doing now is we're building for next year right? To try and get into that top couple of heats for Grande Prairie and then build on it and try to be in the last heats for Calgary, which are generally faster."

Fike is 13th in the standings, with fellow High River driver Jason Glass in fifth and looking to move into the top four.

Okotoks Mark Sutherland is 15th, while his son Dayton Sutherland is 32nd.

Kurt Bensmiller, is far and away the leader about 75 points up on Vern Nolin in second spot.

Barring a disastrous weekend, Bensmiller should be named the WPCA's Champion Driver at the end of the Sunday's races.
