"Field of Dreams" is making its way back to Seaman Stadium for another go-round this May long weekend.

The charity softball game brings together members of the Okotoks Dawgs, Calgary Flames and Calgary Stampeders.

Angie Cox with the Dawgs says it's the unofficial "kick off" to the baseball season.

"So mostly is a practice, trial run for us. We used to do a "fan-fest" and this has kind of taken the place of that. For us we're really excited. Again, we're just hoping the weather cooperates and we can get the stadium going. But it's a fun event and it's great for fans to come out and see some players, other than the Dawgs, on the field."

Okotoks Dawgs Angie Cox speaks to the media during the "Field of Dreams" news conference Thursday at McMahon Stadium in Calgary.

Cox says one big thing fans need to be aware of is it's not the Dawgs event, so you have to buy your tickets through the charity.

"You have to go to their Eventbrite site, which is fieldofdreamsyyc.com. You can't call the Dawgs office and purchase tickets because we don't have that availability. Please go to that website. And if you're a season ticket holder for the Dawgs, this particular game, event, is not included. So you will need separate tickets to come and participate."

The game's a 7 o'clock start on Friday, May 18.
