A sold out Seaman Stadium Friday, May 26, for the "Field of Dreams" charity slow pitch game between the Calgary Stampeders, Calgary Flames and Okotoks Dawgs.

Event Organizer Rob Laird says judging by the fan interest it could become an annual event.

"Everybody's saying they can't wait until next year, and we've just got started. But this place is packed. Down on the far end we've got the Lanny McDonald's, the Bo Levi Mitchell's and the Charleston Hughes, they're all signing autographs. You've got the "who's who" of the Foothills and Calgary here."

"Field of Dreams" Organizer Rob Laird is already talking about doing it all again next year.

The biggest pop of the night went to everyone's favourite Calgary Flame, Lanny McDonald who says he wouldn't have wanted to be anywhere else.

"You know what? It's so much fun to be here, and what a great cause. And look at all these people. You couldn't ask for a better night. We're going to have a whole lot of fun. Whether we get a hit or strike out, who cares!"

McDonald was joined by players and alumni from both the Flames and Stampeders.

All the money raised went to Life Choice Dynamics, which helps CFL players transition back into regular life once their careers end.

And CC4MS, which helps adult survivors of childhood sexual assault.
