The Calgary Stampeders open training camp Sunday, May 28, at McMahon Stadium with two-a-days.

Head Coach Dave Dickenson says the competition will be fierce and he'll go with whoever earns the job.

"If it's even, you win you're a veteran. But if you get beat out, you get beat out. I do expect Bo (Levi Mitchell) to be our quarterback though. But seriously, you've got to compete. Don't come here if you're not in the mood to compete. I don't like the idea of deciding the roster before you hit the practice field, I just don't think that's fair. I don't think that's the way you should build your team."

Dickenson says he expects to see battles for just about every position, particularly along the offensive line, which has been decimated by injury and retirement.

He says he's got some wiggle room in the Canadian/Import ratio this year, which is why he's brought in six American O-Linemen to camp.

Positions traditionally held by Canadians to allow import players to be in more skill positions.

But he says it really doesn't matter anymore, "Give me the best guys, and we'll start the year with those guys." He says.

The rookies report Wednesday, May 24, with the main camp going Sunday.
