The Masters Series in Spruce Meadows Calgary ended on September 9, with famed Canadian Rider Eric Lamaze finishing seventh overall in the CP International Grand Prix.

Lamaze saw some success earlier in the week, placing first in the Akita Drilling Cup on September 5, but after racking up two faults in the international in the second round, he failed to quality for a jump off.

Local rider Lisa Carlsen from Okotoks also competed this year after a long hiatus from the sport, but after accumulating nine faults in the first round, did not advance to the second.

Both Lamaze and Carlsen, teamed up alongside fellow Canadians Kara Chad and Ian Millar for the team run in the BMO Nations cup, where Canada finished in second place overall, just under Germany, who won.

Yesterdays grand prize winner was Sameh El Dahan from Egypt, who brought home one million dollars after a faultless run in the CP International Grand Prix.
